On November 9th (Shayne's B-day) we went to Aviation nation at Nellis Air Force Base. Since Alyssa is in the Air Force we were able to go with David and drive onto the base instead of having to be shuttled from the raceway with everyone else. (Thank GOD!!). We all had a great day. We were able to go inside a satellite plane for the military (way cool and not somewhere you want to be for very long if you do not like tight spaces). We were able to watch the F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22, P-52, C-17, Mig 21, C-130, Sky divers, Jet car and Mig race, The Netherlands Royal Air Force and also see the Thunderbirds. As you can see in the photos the grounds is wet (go figure, the one day you really want nice weather and it rained, and it only rains how often here in Las Vegas?). All in all the day was great. Loud VERY LOUD!!! The F-15 and F-22 are extremely loud and I do mean loud. I am so grateful Shayne and I had ear plugs.
Nellis Air Force Base Flight Line Fire Trucks
On November 9th (Shayne's b-day) we went to Aviation Nation at Nellis Air Force Base. One of the Firemen at the flight line fire station let Shayne get inside one of the fire trucks and showed him how to work some of the controls. He was in heaven. The trucks are really cool and do not look anything like any fire truck I have ever seen.

A look back on the trip and wedding in New Jersey
Sitting here doing my blog and looking at the photos and listening to the radio. I am at a lose at were the time went. The song on the radio is "You're gonna miss this" and boy is it true. I miss the little boy in the pictures. I do so wish the days had not gone by so fast. I still cannot believe he is old enough to be married now to a beautiful young lady. I still see the little boy in him but I also see a wonderful young man I am very proud of. I now find myself sitting here reminiscing and thinking back on our trip, the wedding and David growing up. So well, here we go on the trip and the wedding. Hope you enjoy.
The trip to New Jersey was fun and exciting. We did get lost, only once. We enjoyed site seeing. Going to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, New York to see ground zero, and Atlantic City.
While there Keith and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on 10-1. It is hard to believe it has been that long. It sure does not seem like it. On the 1st we meet Alyssa's mom and step dad and her two sisters. We all had dinner together after going to see the reception center and meeting at the beach.
The wedding was beautiful. Alyssa looked gorgeous. David made a very good choice. Everyone had a wonderful time and danced the night away. We were all there till well after midnight. Everyone danced, including Keith's mom (which unfortunately I did not get a picture of). William did not give anyone a choice to say no when he asked you to dance, he took you to the floor. I think they all enjoyed themselves. Shayne danced his pants off (literally, well his underpants anyway, they ripped under his tux). William played a joke on David before the wedding by telling him the tux place lost his shoe (the picture with the boots) and David freaked out. It was really funny till Will could no longer play along and gave away the joke.
I am very thankful to everyone who was able to make the long trip to New Jersey for the wedding. It was really great to have you there to share in our joy in seeing David marry Alyssa.
Thank you!!!! We love you all very much.

Statue of Liberty 9-30-08
The Statue of Liberty. We really enjoyed the audio tour. You learn so much more than just reading the signs that are posted on the island. I am so glad that we took the time to go. We had a great time.
While we were at the Statue of Liberty several helicopters circled the island. The Coast Guard and a NYPD helicopter. They tell us that it is normal.
Our adventure on the New Jersey Turnpike
Keith while trying to navigate the New Jersey Turnpike (OMG). That was an adventure in itself. I found that I should really wear my glasses when reading a map. We were trying to get to Liberty Island Park (which I might add we did find). Shayne and Keith on the ferry on the way over to Ellis Island. (New York is in the background).
While trying to read a map I was also taking pictures. I took this picture of the sign of the New Jersey Turnpike. (Not one of my finner moments).
