Here is a look at David's shoulder after having surgery on Tuesday the 19th of August, 2008. He says his shoulder feels better already, through he cannot move his shoulder per doctors orders.
Here is a close-up. They shaved the clavical (it had a hook at the end that was catching the tendons and muscles everytime he moved his shoulder). They also repaired a tear in the Labrum. He also has a small tear in the middle of the rotator cuff that with physical therapy and rest will heal on its own.

Shayne's vacation to Logan, Utah
Okay, so we picked up Shayne yesterday in Beaver, Utah. We meet his Grandpa Cexton and Uncle Kevin half way. I thought that by sending a camera with him on his mini vacation that he would take full advantage of it and take a ton of photos. WRONG!!!!! He did not take even one photograph of anything. When anyone has a camera around he can not wait to get his hands on it and take pictures. But, let him have access to one of his own and you get ZIP! Well, anyway, he says he had a good time. He went to the Golden Spike Monument and found some new friends. So far that is all the information we have been given. So, NO PICS TO UP LOAD FOR VIEWING ENTERTAINMENT.

Our Summer 2008
This summer has been filled with lots of adventure, fun, travel and changes. David and Alyssa are getting ready for their wedding in October. They moved into their own apartment in June near the Air Force Base where Alyssa is stationed. David will be having surgery on his shoulder on the 19th of this month to repair the shoulder bone. Apparently the bone is causing impingement to the tendons in the shoulder due to the bone having a hook on the end. They will shave this off and hopefully he will be on his way to a full recovery after that.
In June he went backpacking at Mt. Charleston with the Boy Scouts. In July Shayne went Camp Whitsett in California for one week. This is a Boy Scout camp. He earned five merit badges while he was there. He earned Indian Lore, Orienteering, Forestry, Basketry, and Leather Work. The weekend he came home he and I left and went to Salt Lake for a week. While we were there we went to the Family Library, The Museum of Church History and Art, visited family. Shayne went rock climbing with my brother, Jim. Which happens to be one of Shayne all time favorites. He was able to get his first pedicure with me, Sabrina, Brightyn and my mom (which was a blast, I also think he enjoyed it). At his Court of Honor for Boy Scouts in July he had earned ten merit badges (which included the 5 from camp). He also earned Family Life, Pets, Medicine, Fingerprinting, and Camping. He now has 21 merit badges in the 1 1/2 years he has been in Boy Scouts. Just this last weekend the Boy Scouts went to Kents Lake outside Beaver, Utah for a camping trip with cub scout pack 530. I was able to go as I am a register committee member. We had a great time. It rained so hard on the way up you could hardly see the car in front of you. We fished during a rained and hail storm and laughed about it the whole time. Just before we went Shayne became the Senior Patrol Leader for his troop. And while we were there they had a board of review and Shayne received his Star. Which means he could be going for his Eagle Badge this time next year if all goes well. When we left the lake we meet Keith parents in Beaver and Shayne went with them for the next two weeks. We will be picking him up on the 24th just in time for school to start. Hopefully he will be using the camera we sent with him and take some picture.

Canoe Fun on Saturday August 9th, 08 at Kents Lake, Utah
Christopher, Shae and Shayne in the canoe out for a ride around the lake.
Shayne, Shae and Andrew coming in from their paddle around the lake. They are using a draw to pull the canoe closer to the shoreline.
Shayne in the back of the canoe. He has a thing for the hat lately. He says his head gets cold. He does keep his hair short.
