Alyssa gets promoted 10-8-09

Being tacked on. We are very proud of her. She now has to go to school before she can wear her new strips or use her new title. But that is ok. She earned it.

Phil Vassar at The Silverton Casion 9-19-09

Keith and I had our first date night in forever. We went to see Phil Vassar in concert pool side at The Silverton Casion Lodge on September 19-2009 and then to dinner. We had a great night. Shayne stayed the night with David and Alyssa.

Mt. Charleston Cave Hike 9-12-2009 Troop 138

Our Boy Scout Troop went to on a day hike to Mt. Cahrleston. They had a good time. They did get rained on.

We decided on night for fun to go the the strip to see the Volcano and the Fountains since I have never seen them and we have lived here for 4 years. We had a great time.

We all had a great time at the concert in the park. Our community puts on concerts at the park right by our house once a months for the four months of summer. This was the last one for the year.

David's fight August 22,2009

The fight was ended at the end of the second round in a TKO. The other guy won(by a cheap shot, he landed a carotid chop, which I am told is illegal). The fight was stopped by what is called a "doctor stop". The ring side physician stopped the fight. As you can see in the last picture David had a look of "I have no idea were I am" about him. He was helped out of the arena and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be checked out. His CT scan came back all clear and was released. Just a little sore. But, fine and wants to fight again.

Kents Lake, Utah August 14 - 16, 2009

Our Troop once again went to Kents Lake, Utah for the 3rd year in a row. We invited the Webelos from Pack 530 and one from Pack 838 to attend also. The boys had a great time again this year. We had over 40 people this year(the biggest turnout so far). Shayne had a good time in the canoes(although he will tell you he did not, the pictures tell otherwise).

Troop 138 Court of Honor August 8th 2009

We had 26 boys earn 96 merit badges from our last Court of Honor til now (since April). Shayne earned 7 merits badges. He has a total of 37 merit badges.

Hoover Dam and bypass bridge construction 7-09

These photos show the construction of the bypass bridge being built at Hoover Dam. Amazing how far they have come. You can also see how low Lake Mead really is.

Camp Geronimo, Arizona July 2009

Shayne went to Boy Scout camp at Camp Geronimo in Arizona this year. He earned 3 merit badges while there, Space Exploration, Rifle Shooting and Archery. He had a good time.

Bryce Canyon, Utah June 2009

Scenic pictures from the scout trip our troop took to Bryce Canyon, Utah on June 19th, 2009. For those of you who have never been to Bryce Canyon it is an amazing site to see. I believe it is truly on of natures best sites. The formations are truly breath taking.
