Shayne is QUARANTINED 5-6-09

Ok, go ahead and laugh. Shayne was diagnosed with Type B influenza on 5-5-09 and placed on quarantine. He does not has Swine flu. He was not kissing pigs. We thought he only had Bronchitis. He fooled all of us including the doctor.
This is the sign Shayne made and placed on his door.

Our early morning fun!! Not really!! May 6, 2009

This is the mess Keith found inside his truck this morning when he went to go to work. Sometime in the early morning hours someone tried to steal his truck.

This is what they did to the ignition switch and steering column.

This is the passenger side key lock. They tried to punch out the lock.

Success!! This is the drivers door. Here is the point of entry. Note key lock, it is missing. You have to laugh. They tried but failed. Our good luck was their bad luck. We at least still have the truck. We have a headache but still have the truck.

The wild out come of getting a cold

The weekend of scout expo the wind here in Las Vegas was soo bad and the pollen count was soo high. I ended up getting very sick with one of the worst colds I have had in a very long time. The outcome: I broke a blood vessel in my right eye. The picture above is after several days of healing. Keith noticed it on 5-1-09. This is the second time I have had this happen in the same eye. Not a pretty picture, especially for a girl and even more so since you can not wear any eye make-up until it heals. People just stare. I have been telling people it is the devil in me coming out. They give me the weirdest look. It is really funny.

Scout Expo April 24, 25 & 26 -2009

The Troop set up a backpacking exhibit at expo to show all the equipment you would need for backpacking. They also had the proper clothing and light weight tents and sleeping bags on exhibit. The Troop took second place.

Chow time. The boys had to prepare dinner on Friday night. We had chicken enchiladas and Mexican rice. For desert we had chocolate cobbler with cherries, vanilla cobbler with peaches and spice cobbler with apples. All of this was made in dutch ovens.

The boys were putting up the Troop flag in the middle of their camp site. Shayne is hold the flag.

Here Shayne is receiving his Citizen in Community merit badge. This make 30 merit badges he has earned in just over two years.
Shayne earned his Life Scout rank badge. His is trying to figure out how to pin the parent pin on my shirt, he was somewhat confused and embarrassed. Keith and I are really proud of him. Now ontoward Eagle!!
